Artist's Comments

A 3D version of MC Escher's "Ascending and Descending" made for college last October.

The camera really does work to make the illusion, just when this was rendered the camera got moved slightly.

Broken at the back, just the camera angle makes the illusion seem possible. I make the front part of the stairs match up with the back part and voila.

Ha I'd love to see another view of this, like around the back part or wherever.

Good to see you're still alive :P

Ah sweet, I just I had most something and Maya could do impossible geometery.

Its a great image and it works even if the camera was moved.

Meh, leave it on for one night and you have a nice render from what I've seen. Or I'm just easily impressed. xD

Research has proven that reading comics is good for your health.

I didn't know Maya had an impossible geometry button.

Nicely modelled! :+fav: Still, I think you should get another rendering done with the camera placed at exactly the right spot. After all your modelling effort, it's a shame that there's still this minor and unnecessary imperfection.

By the way, check out my page for other Escher-inspired 3D illusions :-)
